Input sessions feature a comprehensive, self-paced online component, consisting of lesson observations, methodology, grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, error correction, and teaching skills.
2. Teaching Practice
Training practice workshops are revamped into engaging, interactive webinars with real learners online. The practical component of the course consists of lesson preparation, teaching practice and feedback.

Flexible TESOL course delivery formats and learning modes
The 4-week intensive course format enable trainees to fully concentrate on their developmental journey. Full-time trainees must ensure they have no external commitments or activities that could distract from the course, given its intensive nature and the requirement for evening and weekend work.
Schedule: Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
The 12-week, semi-intensive classes is tailored for working professionals. For those juggling other commitments, our part-time mode spans 12 weeks, allowing gradual absorption of course content. This schedule accommodates class attendance two evenings a week and a full day on Saturday.
Schedule: Saturdays 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Online Mode: Delivers all components, including six teaching practices, entirely online. Our tutors actively support you during these live, interactive sessions, emphasizing real-time teaching and learning, not pre-recorded content.
Blended Mode: All input sessions are conducted online, with two out of six teaching practices taking place face-to-face at our center.
For both modes, we provide you with adult learners for the teaching practice component.
Entry Requirements
- Minimum age 18 on entry to the course.
- Hold qualifications suitable for entry to higher education.
- Competence in written and spoken English appropriate to a teacher of English (demonstrated ability of CEFR C1, IELTS 7.0, GESE 10 or equivalent).
- Demonstrate the skill in teaching English's essential features to learners through engaging and communicative methods.
- The willingness to work as a member of the training group and respond constructively to feedback on personal performance.
- Show the ability for combined study, including language analysis and rigorous practical training, and to deal with pressure and the strict time and energy demands.
Course Syllabus
The Trinity CertTESOL course, validated by Trinity College, combines lesson prep, observed teaching, input sessions, and assignments across all 5 units. The units are:

Ability to critically evaluate one's own teaching performance and effectiveness, engage in reflective practice as an educator, and collaborate with others as a teacher within a team, aiming to improve and succeed together.

TESOL is an acronym for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages that refers to teaching English to non-native speakers (students whose first language is not English). There are several approaches to embracing this highly demanding field (of teaching), all of which are presented in our Trinity CertTESOL course.
Both Trinity CertTESOL and Cambridge CELTA are considered to be the two leading TEFL qualifications having the same broad outcomes. Both CELTA and CertTESOL earn you the same level of qualification (accredited at level 5 on the UK Regulated Qualifications Framework), thus recognised by employers worldwide.
In order to ensure that you can travel, work and successfully apply for visas internationally, a level 5 qualification validated by an international examinations board (such as Trinity or CELTA) provides the best possible start for trainee teachers. If you are seriously considering becoming a professional English teacher in Hong Kong or abroad, it is strongly recommended that you choose a level 5 quality training course (a CertTESOL or a CELTA in HK).
Yes, you can. Our TESOL teacher training course is specifically designed for those with little or no teaching experience. The skills you will develop on the course assume no prior knowledge of linguistics, though an interest in language and learning is an advantage.
